Become Who You Already Are - Written: 1/7/2005

Is becoming who God has called me to be a matter of striving to live up to God's standard by the power of the Holy Spirit or accepting God's finished work in me? What did Jesus mean when He said on the cross, "It is finished?" Did Jesus mean His part was done or did He look down through time and see me fully sanctified, purified and looking like Him?

Then again, both of these thoughts may be true. God is not confined by time the way man is. Of course, the whole question may be mute any way since the power belongs to God regardless the answer. What I am incapable of doing in me, God is more than able to do as I submit to His power.

Oh God, I long to be victorious in every battle. May I become who You designed me to be. Jesus, may I discover my real self in You. From glory to glory, Your power transforms. By faith, I take hold of Your work on my behalf. To God be the glory! Amen!
