Listening is love.
What makes a good gift? Is it much of a gift if we give what we want to give verses what others want or need?....I guess it really all comes down to motive. Why do we give is more important than what we give.
If you truly love someone, you will be willing to let them go and give them space when they need it.
The word "Whatever" was written in graffiti on the a crosswalk sign in the small Irish town where we are staying. I think the word accurately describes the apathy of the people toward the gospel. The living giving words of Jesus has been striped of its power by men doing evil in the name of God. I can understand why people run the other way when they hear the name of Jesus if all they think of is people wanting to take instead of give. I would feel the exact same way.
Green is a good color. It is plentiful in the Irish countryside.
I must be getting old. The kids in Ireland wear uniforms to school. I used to think that making kids wear uniforms to school was cruel and unusual punishment. Having seen what they do over here, I now think it is a good idea.
Deep down inside people are really the same all over the world. Teens in Ireland, just like in Kenya, or in the U.S.A. care a lot about what their friends think. Peer pressure can be a powerful weapon wielded by the enemy. We just have different surroundings and challenges based on where we live.
Driving on the left side of the road is nuts. Even my host thinks so after driving on the right side of the road when he visited America.
I like the Irish accent better than my own. For some reason, they like the American accent... at least my host family says they like it better. I guess the grasser is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Tea is way too big of a deal in the U.K.
Jesus is Lord no matter where you live. You may not believe that. But it doesn't make the statement any less true.
