The Divine Nature - Written: 4/26/2005

Hebrews 1:3 (Amplified Bible)

"He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the [Literal translation.] out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high."

2 Peter 1:4 (King James Version)

"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

One of the main reasons why Jesus came to the earth in human form was to show us how to live. While on the earth, He radiated the glory of God like the sun, and yet He had the same limitations of any other man. Jesus shows us that we can be like God. Oh, we can never be God. But we can be like him in our character and how we choose to live. As Christians, we can be ordinary just like everyone else, or we can have a dangerous faith.

Lately, I have been asking myself, "Who Am I?" And I coming to discover that the real answer can only be found from God not me. I have to realize the Holy Spirit living in me will lead me in all truth. Discovering who I am all starts with realizing who God is.

Here's a partial list of who God is to me:

True Love, the Word of Life, the Creator, Eternal One (He has always existed), Holy God, All Knowing, Trustworthy, The Conquering KING, Beyond Limits, The Power Source, Merciful Judge, Patient, The Greatest Mentor Ever, Redeemer, Master, and Best Friend!

Lord, Help me to draw near to You, resist the devil and submit to Your transforming power. Make me like You I want to partake of Your nature and not the sinful nature. May I reflect Your glory and live by Your promises. Thank You for doing more than just saving me from myself. You are making me into something worthy of being kept around forever. To God be the glory, amen!
