Discovering A Culture of God - Written: 6/2/2005

When asked if He was a king, Jesus answered that His kingdom is not of this world. Wow, that's quite a concept when you stop to think about it. God's kingdom transcends this world. And if we belong to the kingdom of God, we are called to live in this world as if we truly belong to another one. We are to reflect the values and lifestyle of our King.

Every kingdom has a unique culture and sense of values. Each kingdom has its own customs, priorities, forms of communication, etc. What then does it really mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of God? How could you tell that a person is a true Christian - a resident alien here and now?

Quite simply, he or she would reflect the values of God. We know that the values of God are love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, meekness, faith and self control. These are the value and attributes of the people of God. And if that's the case, why is it so hard for many people to distinguish Christians from everyone else in the crowd?
