Today, I had lunch with Pastor Matthew Casey. Wow, he is such a blessing to me and my church. I am glad that God has called him here from the Pacific NW. We talked about my concerns at work. I told him about my previous blog entry.
Pastor Matthew said that he heard a godly man say that there are two forces trying to kill us in this world. They have different motives and desires. God wants to kill us that we can truly live in Him and be free from sin. The devil wants to kill our body, mind and soul to keep us from the life that God has for us. Either we let God kill us or the devil will kill us. And that wouldn't be pretty.
Surrender is truly one of the hardest things to do. It takes complete faith and trust. Surrender seems to go against human nature. But that is what real Christianity is all about. True worshippers never leave the alter. They become a living sacrifice.
Lord, make me a living sacrifice. Help me to come to the end of me. May I realize that letting You kill me is the best way to live. May I trust in Your resurrection power. Amen!
