Who Are You? - Written: 10/9/2005

The simple answer to that question is that you are who God (your Creator) says that you are. How do we know what God says? Well, we have to start with His Word, the Holy Scriptures.

If you are a Christian,a follower of Jesus, then you are a son of God.

1 John 3:1-2 (NIV)

1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Romans 8:16-17 (NIV)

16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

If you are a follower of Jesus, then you are a new creature. You are God’s workmanship (Ephesians 2:10).

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation the old has gone, the new has come!

Why is it important what we believe about us? Why is it important that we make positive confessions about us?

Romans 10:10 (NIV)

10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

John 15:7 (NIV)

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
