Some days my job really makes it hard to go on living on this side of heaven. Part of my jobs as assistant publisher and a writer is to investigate issues. Sometimes this means that I get hip deep in legal or legislative issues. Frequently, I do not like what I find because our legal system and business environment is fraught with dishonest scales, inept bureaucracies, and problems that no one seems to want to fix. People get away with half truths and decisions that are atrocious just because the majority is too numb to care. The real difficult issues don't translate well into sound bites. Everyone has a bias although nobody wants to admit it. And no matter who I vote for, problems seem to get worse and worse.
Our government and legal systems are better than many others in the world. I don't know what people in those countries do. I am tired of our system and wish we could just install new leadership. I vote for Jesus. Why can't He be King? Oh, I long for the time when the perfect judge will rule. There will be no bribes or deceived juries. There will be no more cleaver public relations campaigns or twisted statistics. There will only be truth, life and the way of God.
I understand what John prayed when he cried out, "Come Lord jesus, Come!"
