Pastor Matthew said these words tonight at a small group that I help facilitate. He was speaking on hearing the voice of God. And he talked about how some people get really stressed out when it comes to hearing God. They worry about the other voices and wonder if what they are hearing is really from God. They doubt and in the process put as much or more confidence in the forces of darkness as the light of God's sweet revelation.
True, we should try to avoid the evil spirits that may try to influence our thoughts. But we should never worry that they will drown out God's word if we really seek Him with our whole heart. God wins. His word is stronger than the voices of the enemy. While the enemy may have a loud roar sometimes, he always fleas when we submit to God, resist the devil and draw near to Jesus.
