Luke 19:13 (KJV): And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.
God has not called Christians to simply take up space and exist until He returns. No, Jesus called his servants to occupy the land. This denotes an active presense beyond the role of a spectator. We are to exercise dominion and control over this world. We are to act as God's agents until He returns and gives us new instructions. Beyond simply waiting with our heavenly ticket in hand, we are to work to make heaven a reality in this life as much as possible.
