“Intelligent living, we just don’t do it today in America. We are off bopping about doing ten thousand things, having ten thousand thoughts a minute. We are totally under committed in areas where we should be committed and totally over committed in areas that don’t mean any thing. I am not preaching down to any one. I am talking to myself. We need to link up with what the Lord is doing. You go through all the Gospel accounts, do you ever see Jesus go around like a chicken with his head cut off? Never. He just went about one place to another... Walking. Even when Lazarus was dying, Jesus said that he would be there in a couple of days.”
– Jason Falzarano, assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel New Brunswick
I had the pleasure of meeting Jason at Jake and Beth Beveridge's wedding this past weekend. And we immediately clicked. His sermon on Ecclesiastes 10 is a keeper. The above quote captures a great point about the need to live smart and have the right priorities. We must be vigilant to never let the tyranny of the urgent disrupt the things that are truly important. Do yourself a favor this week and put the cell phone on silent when spending time with those you love this week. Who ever is calling on the line can probably wait an hour or so. If Jesus didn't get in a hurry to rush from thing to thing, why should we?
