Mike Giroux, a youth pastor in Williamsburg, spoke at the youth retreat this past weekend. He moved in the Spirit and said some very profound things. I loved watching Mike minister. He spoke about the Bible and God’s truth in a very relevant yet convicting way. He didn’t water it down while he kept from making things too difficult to understand.
Mike seemed to be a man who knew how to meet people where they are at in order to take them where God wants them to be.
Here are just a few things that Mike said this past weekend:
-"Nobody is going to pay attention to a powerless life that is lived in mediocrity."
-"God is faithful to give the gift of the Holy Spirit to those who ask for it."
-"What you behold, you become. And where your gaze is, there you will go."
-"I'm tired of hearing stories about others walking in the power of the Spirit. I want to live it myself."
-"I'm not content to be a spectator."
-"If you are going to go down, go down wet and not inside of the boat."
-"You can't have a mountain without a valley."
-"Peter is the only one who got out of the boat. Being the only one is not bad sometimes."
-"When have you ever fought for more of God like somebody does a guitar pick or broken drum stick at a rock concert?"
-"Momentum happens in the moment."
